Hello!
My practice and teaching are grounded in lived experience. I’ve witnessed firsthand the profound transformation yoga can bring physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It has guided me toward healthier habits, a more balanced lifestyle, greater inner strength, and a deeper sense of gratitude for both life's joys and its challenges. These are the shifts I hope to share with each of my students.
My yoga journey began in childhood, and after earning my first certification in 1996, I went on to complete a Teacher Training Course in India in 2019, a turning point that deepened and transformed my practice. Since then, I explored deeper practices, including Vipassana, Advanced Pranayama, Shatakriyas (yogic cleansing techniques), and OM chanting.
Yoga has remained a steady companion, helping me navigate the demands of a creative career, motherhood, international moves, and a breast cancer diagnosis in 2015.
Although I healed physically over the years, that experience led me to reflect more deeply at what health and healing truly mean. I came to understand that recovery is about much more than the absence of disease or physical symptoms. True healing often involves emotional, mental, social, and spiritual wellbeing, a perspective that is deeply rooted in the yogic understanding of human health and one that continues to shape my approach to Yoga Therapy today.
While living in Singapore, I was introduced to Yoga Therapy through Yin Yoga and felt an immediate connection to its healing potential. Inspired to learn more, I began postgraduate studies in Yoga Therapy at the Wisdom Yoga Institute in Perth in 2025 under the guidance of Dr Chandrika Gibson.
As part of my practicum requirements, I have worked with a diverse range of clients under the supervision of my mentor, IAYT-certified Yoga Therapist Monique (YogaMon.com).
This work has challenged me in unexpected ways, expanding my knowledge beyond traditional yoga practice to include clinical research, physiology, nervous system regulation, and the therapeutic potential of breath. What fascinates me most is how seemingly simple practices can create profound change, even in situations where conventional approaches may not provide complete relief.
Yoga Therapy allows me to bring together my knowledge of yoga, my professional teaching experience, and my lived experience in a way that extends beyond what is possible in a general yoga class.
??This journey has opened an entirely new world of learning and discovery for me, and it has reinforced something I have always believed: I am, and always will be, a student for life.
I owe immense gratitude to my mother, my first guru, who gently guided me toward yoga and meditation during some of the lowest phases of my life.
Beyond yoga, I’m a trained Graphic Designer with a keen eye for detail, a deep love for classic typefaces, and an unapologetic obsession with clean, aligned layouts, colour harmony, and perfect kerning!
Originally from Mumbai, I have lived in Seattle, Singapore, and now Sydney, which I am grateful to call home. Here, I continue to balance life as a wife, mother to a pre-teen son, and lifelong student, while sharing my passion for yoga, breath, and holistic wellbeing with others.
My Approach
My approach is compassionate, adaptable, and deeply rooted in the true purpose of yoga: to guide you toward a more balanced, peaceful, and resilient life.
My Yoga Practice sessions offer small, inclusive classes where every student feels seen and supported regardless of experience or ability. The practice is thoughtfully crafted for beginners, intermediate practitioners, and those looking to deepen their practice.
The breath is central to my teaching. It forms the bridge between body and mind. Pranayama, or yogic breathing, is not just an add-on at the end of a session; it is the essence of the practice. The goal of yoga is stillness of mind, and breath is the most accessible tool to get there.
Yoga is not a quick fix. It is a multi-layered journey that unfolds over time and requires Shraddha (faith), Abhyasa (consistent practice), and Vairagya (non-attachment to the fluctuations of the mind).
