Hi, I’m Mihika.

My practice and teaching are grounded in lived experience. I’ve witnessed firsthand the profound transformation yoga can bring - physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It has guided me toward a healthier, more balanced lifestyle and a deeper sense of gratitude for both life’s joys and its challenges. These are the shifts I hope to share with each of my students.

In 2019, I completed a Teacher Training Course in India, a turning point that deepened and transformed my practice. While living in Singapore, I was introduced to Yoga Therapy through Yin Yoga and felt an immediate connection to its healing potential. I’m currently pursuing a Yoga Therapeutic certification to offer personalised sessions for breast cancer survivors—blending my lived experience with a compassionate, mindful approach to working with chronic illness.

I owe immense gratitude to my mother-my first guru-who gently guided me toward yoga and meditation during some of the lowest phases of my life. Though it took time, I came to truly understand the power of these practices. My yoga journey began in childhood, and after my first certification in 1996, I explored deeper practices including Vipassana, Pranayama, yogic cleansing techniques, and chanting. Yoga has remained a steady companion, helping me navigate the demands of a creative career, motherhood, international moves, and a breast cancer diagnosis in 2015.

Beyond yoga, I’m a trained Graphic Designer with over 20 years of experience across branding, events, marketing, and print production. I have a keen eye for detail, a deep love for classic typefaces, and an unapologetic obsession with clean, aligned layouts, colour harmony, and perfect kerning!

Originally from Mumbai, I’ve taught and studied yoga in India, Singapore, and now in Sydney, which I’m grateful to call home. Here, I continue to balance life as a full-time mum with my passion for yoga, while nurturing my creative spirit through the meditative art of crochet.

My Philosophy & Practice

My foundation is rooted in the discipline of Sadhana—a continuous, committed yogic practice guided by the principles in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras: Tapas, Swadhyaya, and Ishwarapranidhana.

Tapas

Often translated as “to burn,” Tapas signifies the inner fire that purifies and transforms. It’s the disciplined effort that helps us move through discomfort, face our truths, and shed what no longer serves us. Yoga is not about feeling instantly relaxed or calm —it’s about turning inward, confronting ourselves. When we move through what challenges us, we emerge stronger, more resilient, and radiant—like a diamond refined under pressure.

Swadhyaya

This is the practice of self-study - introspection, reflection, and developing deeper awareness of the self on all levels: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. For me, it also includes the study of yogic texts and contemplative learning. Swadhyaya has been a constant thread in my journey, helping me stay grounded, encouraging deeper understanding and clarity over time.

Ishwarapranidhana

A surrender to something greater than ourselves—a higher intelligence and the wisdom of Yoga. My faith in the transformative power of this practice is absolute and unwavering. I believe we don't need multiple variations or diluted forms of yoga to make it appealing.
